The much anticipated girls’ indoor soccer season has officially started. The team is led by Coach Valentin and Coach Tehilah, two passionate soccer players. Starting practices in March, the team has worked very hard for the upcoming season and is incredibly motivated to succeed.
The season kicked off on March 20, where the Girls Indoor Soccer team played SAR in Heschel’s High School gym. The benches were filled with parents and students, bringing an abundance of enthusiasm and support for the girls. Unfortunately, after an intense match, the team lost by two points.
Sophomore Lily Weiss said, “All the girls showed up with their game faces on and so many parents and students came to support us. Even though we didn’t win, we showed up with energy, excitement, and represented the Heschel Heat in the best way.”
The goalie of the team, sophomore Tamar Shwartz said, “Though we weren’t able to secure a victory, it was still a great opportunity and united us as a team. We learned so much and are excited for the season to come!”
On March 24, the team rebounded with a win during an away game against Bruriah. After the game, Coach Valentin said, “There was great teamwork from the girls.”
The season’s kickoff has shown the team’s passion and spirit. They are filled with determination, intensity, and unity, which will place them on an upwards trajectory. Make sure to come support the team as they continue to work hard throughout the season!
