For all younger classmen who might wonder where seniors vanish to on their infamous skip day, here’s a quick rundown.
On March 27, seniors elected to take the day off at SkyZone, a trampoline park in New Rochelle, located about an hour north of school. How did they get there, you ask? While some seniors proudly drove with their newly acquired licenses, the majority took the train, making for an adventure before the event even began.
At SkyZone, they jumped into a variety of activities—trampolining, a ropes course, Parkour challenges, dance simulators, and, of course, dodgeball. After working up an appetite, everyone scattered to different lunch spots before regrouping for a grade-wide hangout.
The weather was nice, and kids were playing music as we sat outside, talking and dancing. By the end of the afternoon, some of us were completely drenched—not from senior splash (which hadn’t officially started yet), but from eager participants who couldn’t resist getting a head start on the water fights.
Reflecting on the day, Shoham Zuker, one of the grade representatives and event organizers, shared, “I received a lot of positive feedback. Everyone had a great time, and it was a nice break from all the hard work we’ve put in this year. It felt good to finally reward ourselves with a day to relax, have fun, and connect as a class.”
For Charlotte Levine, the highlight of the day was a sibling showdown. She and her twin sister, Olivia, spent most of their time at the foam pit, balancing on pedestals and trying to knock each other off. When asked about her favorite part of the day, Charlotte simply said, “Fighting Olivia… and winning.”
Whether you’re a freshman just starting high school or a rising senior counting down the days, Senior Skip Day is something to look forward to.
