Olivia Levine joined Helios in September of her sophomore year. She became an active member of Helios, and her writing and leadership skills quickly stood out. At the end of the year, Olivia was made Editor-in-Chief, along with two rising seniors. During her time as EIC, Olivia mentored many club members and editors and instituted new initiatives, such as revamping the Helios website and reintroducing editorials for each issue. Her leadership and passion guided the paper to success. As she told us, Olivia’s favorite part of being an EIC was hearing a wide range of opinions, which helped her become a more open minded individual. Additionally, she enjoyed working with writers one on one to help develop their skills. With her endless energy and intellect, this woman in STEM, Modinite, former Blood Drive Coordinator, and incredible friend made a great impact on both Helios and Heschel as a whole. Thank you so much for all you’ve contributed to this paper, Olivia. We know you will accomplish great things at Dartmouth, and we will miss you so much!
Bee Levy joined Helios her freshman year. She became a News Editor at the end of her sophomore year, rigorously writing and editing news articles. At the end of her junior year, Bee became an Editor-in-Chief. She has worked tirelessly to create a first class school newspaper filled with coverage of important events connected to our school community. Bee said that her favorite thing about Helios was the opportunity to connect with peers — whether that be in big meetings or late night FaceTime calls with her former editors-in-chief. Bee’s impressive sleep schedule and work ethic are unstoppable, and she always kept the editorial board on task. Thank you so much for your hard work. Best of luck at UPenn, Bee! You will be missed.
Yhonatan Yehudai joined Helios his freshman year. He became an Assistant News Editor at the end of his sophomore year and an Editor-in-Chief his junior year. Yhonatan is steadfast in his opinions and always shares great insights during editorial meetings. His favorite part of being an Editor-in-Chief was getting to see everyone improve as writers and noticing the progress each article makes throughout the editing process. Additionally, he loved getting to know people from different grades and helping them do something they’re interested in. Thank you, Yhonatan, for all you’ve contributed to Helios over the past four years. Congratulations on continuing the Editor-in-Chief to Northwestern pipeline! We wish you all the best.
Olivia, Bee and Yhonatan, thank you for your mentorship, your commitment to the newspaper and the positive energy you brought to every meeting. On behalf of the entire Helios staff, we wish you good luck in college! We can’t wait to hear about your amazing accomplishments.
